Hi there!  I’m Julie.

I am a certified nutritionist who loves to eat and cook(yes, in that order) BUT not the dishes!  I also really dig hanging with my guy, family, and my little rescue kitty, Percy.  And if I could hike every day, I would!!

I spent most of my 20’s overweight and fairly unhappy with my body, leading me to be unhappy with life all around.  One day, I decided I had had enough, I was going to lose the weight!!  Well, I did, in the usual manner.  I tracked every bite, every minute of exercise, etc, etc….

Did I lose weight?  Yes, I did.  Was I healthier?  Not really, I still struggled with issues like constipation, acne, bloating and PMS.  As well as still being unhappy and spending LOTS of time obsessing over my weight and food.

HMMM…shouldn’t have that turned out differently?? 

Yeah, it should have.  The problem was that even with all that tracking, I did not learn to eat the food that nourished my body.  one day I stumbled across the Primal and Paleo lifestyle and everything changed!!  I went from eating out of boxes and bags to choosing real, whole food.  I let go of my strictness and began to listen to my body.  Today, my body is running much more smoothly and I have a greater appreciation for a nutrient dense diet.  And I am happy!!
